Robert Rides a Boat into Iguazu Falls

I don’t get out into nature much.  That changed when I visited the small town of Iguazu in Argentina and experienced the nearby Iguazu Falls.  I not only traveled over rough, tropical terrain, but I also got on a boat!  Big time stuff for a city boy like me.

Washington D.C.’s National Mall

Travelers flock to this part of Washington D.C., and with good reason.  The National Mall is where all the action is.  Well, where all the museum action is.  This is the place to go to check out all the free and spectacular Smithsonian museums: Natural History, American History, Air and Space, Botanical Garden.  The list keeps going.  Plus, on both sides of the Mall you have the Washington Memorial and the Capitol Building.  Set aside a few days to explore this place, because just one day ain’t gonna cut it.

Eating My Way through New Orleans

Let me just state the obvious:  New Orleans is known for its food.  From beignets to jambalaya to late night concoctions, if you leave this city hungry, then something’s wrong with you.

New Orleans at Night

Now this is the New Orleans that people really want to see.  Don’t get me wrong, daytime hours in this glorious city have their place, too.   But somehow, the jazz sounds better and the booze tastes sweeter after hours.  Well, some of the booze taste sweeter.  Absinthe, regardless of when you drink it, will taste like black licorice, which doesn’t taste the sweetest.  This port town lives up to its reputation as the first Sin City.  The only difference is these weathered building exteriors aren’t facades.  This is real-time stuff.

A PG-13 Look at Vegas Nightlife

Many travelers visit Las Vegas to do dirty things.  Filthy things.  Nasty things.  Things illegal in most states.  Or so I hear.  I didn’t really try that side of Nevada’s Sin City.  But when the sun goes down, it’s hard not to wade at least a little in the cesspool.  Here’s my toe-dippin’ night.
